About Us

The Scouts

The Scouts have been preparing young people for the future since 1907, when Robert Baden-Powell led the first experimental Scout camp on Brownsea Island, Dorset in 1907.

Since then, Scouting has prepared boys and girls with the practical, employability and character skills they need to succeed in life.

There are over 455,000 Scouts in the UK, supported by over 150,000 volunteers who give up their time to provide so many young people with the opportunity for fun, adventure and skills for life.
